I met Orbital’s Paul Hartnoll when working on a music video for his tune ‘The Clock – Feat Cillian Murphy’. I gave him a lift home to Brighton after the shoot, and on the way we chatted about music, and 70s children television. It soon turned out that he was ‘one of us’, a fellow fan of creepy atmospheric tales aimed at terrifying kids, and adults alike.

I run a small production company here in Brighton called Hanged Man Films, and I recently decided to start shooting a series of portraits of cool creative and interesting people that I’ve become friends with other the years. Paul seemed like a great first choice, and he was generous enough to spare us a big chunk of his time.

Paul is well known as the front-man of the influential electronic group Orbital. He rose to fame, and has since toured the world, written music for film and television, and learnt a lot along the way.

In the film, we discuss life, music, becoming famous, and creative philosophy. I hope you enjoy.
