If you are in any way interested in gaming, then it’s quite likely that you’ve heard of the amazing web-based show Pure Pwnage. The show, which is a mockumentary about a socially dysfunctional ‘Pro-gamer’ called Jeremy, was somewhat of a revolutionary occurrence when it hit back in 2004. It was the first really successful episodic Internet show, which flourished in a pre-YouTube era.
The show then went on to be picked up by Showcase in Canada, and received critical acclaim, and many award nominations, only to be dropped as the station decided to change it’s style of programming.
If you thought it was all over, you’d have probably been right…until a few days ago:
I seriously cannot be more excited. The show was a massive inspiration to me to start this site, and to see what happens when you throw out your own content, and learn and grow as a media-maker. They’ve already made way over their initial $75,000 goal (currently at an amazing $98,000), so it looks like it’s all go, but the more money they raise, the better the film.
So go over to Indiegogo, and help make the definitive best ever ever gamer movie!
